The People

Great wines have great people behind them. At Mount Brown Estates we’re lucky to have Frank running our lovely new  winery as well as Andrew, Dean, John, Paddy and Will working hard on our vineyards.  Tony and Catherine are very hands-on owners: Tony prefers time on a tractor to time in the office and Catherine’s favourite role is pouring our lovely wines.

Frank Manifold – Winemaker

Frank started his career in the wine industry during his school holidays.  After completing wine studies he entered the life of a cellarhand travelling the world completing numerous vintages in Australia, the USA, Germany and of course New Zealand. After a prolonged stay in the Barossa Valley, Australia, Frank returned to New Zealand in 2006 and settled in the Waipara wine growing region.  In 2009 Frank became a winemaker and in 2010 started making wine for Mount Brown at a contract winemaking facility. In 2013 Frank joined Mount Brown Estates full time as their Winemaker.  Frank has recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma Oenology.

Andrew Florance – Vineyard Manager

Andrew has worked for us since 2011 leading a dedicated and hardworking team in the vineyard: John, Dean, Paddy and Will.
